My sister and I have recently created a recipe of noodles that was salty yet sweet at the same time. We decided to use a method I learned in school called “Bad Idea Farming.” Its where we throw out super bad ideas and work on that to create a good one. I for one think it worked out great, especially with that touch of cucumber makes it even better. I would recommend eating this fresh because that’s when it tastes the best.
This makes about 4 servings.
- 8oz Dried Spaghetti Noodles
- 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1/3 cup Chopped Green Onions
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Maggi Seasoning or Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
- 1 Big Cucumber, cut into strips
Step one: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain noodles and wipe the pot clean.
Step two: Return pot to medium-high heat and add in the butter. When the butter is sizzling a bit, add the green onion and the garlic. Fry until slightly golden-yellow, watching it carefully so the garlic doesn’t burn,
Step three: In a separate bowl, add brown sugar, Maggi Seasoning, and oyster sauce and stir, mixing everything evenly.
Step four: Add the mixture into the pot and mix. Then add in the drained noodles. Finally add in the strips of cucumber.
