Here’s another pasta recipe for all you pasta lovers. Okay, so i know it sounds weird to put ketchup in pasta, but honestly this tastes pretty darn good. It’s a pretty funny story of how my mom and I came up with this recipe. Awhile back I’ve been seeing my dad put ketchup into his instant noodles every now and then, yeah he’s kinda of a weird guy, anyways
I decided to try it out for myself and it was actually good. So i thought what if I used a different pasta and what if we added this, what if we did that. And BAM! This amazing recipe was created with the help of my mom. Thank you dad for being weird.
- 1 box of Rotini whole grain pasta or regular pasta is fine
- 4 oz Ground pork
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 6 cloves of garlic or 2 tablespoons
- 2 cups of ketchup
- 1 tsp Maggi soy sauce
Step one: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add in the Rotini pasta and cook according to the box’s directions. After the desired time from the directions is up, drain the pasta. Then leave to the side. (My mom recently changed our pasta to whole grain because its supposedly healthier. So this is the first time i’ve used whole grain pasta for this recipe, but it actually tastes just as good as if using regular pasta.)
Step two: As the pasta in cooking, put the ground beef into a bowl. Add in the oyster sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper Then just leave to the side. ( If you didn’t notice I accidentally put the 1 tsp in the picture with the black pepper…its supposed to be the 1/4 tsp, but oh well.)
Step Three: With that same pot add in oil and chopped garlic. On medium heat, stir fry the garlic until it is a golden yellow. Once it becomes a golden yellow add in the ground pork. Stir fry until well done. Once the meat in finished, turn to low heat and add in the pasta, ketchup and soy sauce. Mix well until sauce is evenly distributed.
